Conversion of an office building to high-end apartments and penthouse suite.
Located in central Kensington the site required careful liaison with key stakeholders to manage the build process.
The conversion of an existing 7 storey office building to provide luxury apartments located within one of London’s most desirable locations. Critical Mass Architects was appointed to provide a full architectural service along with quantity surveyor and contract administrator service. The project drawing upon our extensive experience in high quality residential refurbishments.
The initial partnering based approach comprising client, contractor, architect, expanded to include project managers, client representatives, financiers and external quantity surveyors to address the scale and complexity of the project.
The alterations required consents from local authorities and freeholders, achieved through a series of planning applications seeking single issue consents successfully achieved through both formal and informal dialogue.
One of the principal considerations at the initial design phase was to maximise the built site.
The resultant scheme raising the useable area by 30 percent.area.
